Dylan – A Feedback Loop

Episode 78: All Good Things

Dylan — Fri, 28 Sep 2018 19:35:23 +0000

Jesse and Dylan wrap up the podcast! It’s a little sad, but it’s a great trip down memory lane. We talk about what we’ve done, how we’ve grown, and how things have changed since then, and thank just about everybody we can think of. As always, there’s lots of laughs and tangents, so it should fun to listen to. So for one last time: Get in the Loop!

Episode 77: Two Hearts (Charlie McKittrick & Jamie Reaume)

Dylan — Mon, 27 Aug 2018 17:13:05 +0000

We’re nearing the end of a tumultuous summer, but Jesse and Dylan are back on the board covering the dual EP release of long-time AFL favourites Charlie McKittrick and Jamie Reaume. Four tracks apiece, ranging all over the map with two distinct takes on the themes of love and loss that manage to blend remarkably into a cohesive whole. We’ve never heard anything like it and odds are neither have you. So check it out!

Episode 68: Quinnzelle

Dylan — Mon, 15 Jan 2018 23:06:45 +0000

Jesse and Dylan tackle Ottawa Pop Punk band Quinnzelle and their self-titled debut EP. It’s hard, heavy, and a little raunchy; it hit all of Dylan’s Blink 182 nostalgia buttons. Jesse contemplates the nature of authenticity and appreciates the rhythm section. There’s also some talk about Star Wars, and we get news of the podcast being contacted from other worlds (well, the United States at least). Have a seat and get ready to go back to the late 90s as you enjoy Quinnzelle!

Episode 60: Father Owl

Dylan — Mon, 04 Sep 2017 12:02:20 +0000

A modern take on prog rock, with plenty of ambience and a bit of a horror vibe, Father Owl’s self-titled album is great for listening to in the dark, in-between spaces. If you’re not into prog rock, the sound is still pretty accessible (and very awesome), so you might find yourself looking a little further into the genre. Check’em out at www.fatherowlmusic.com!

Episode 33: PKEW PKEW PKEW

Dylan — Mon, 29 Aug 2016 10:34:55 +0000

With Jess on vacation, Dylan and his mum Loretta want you to get your skateboarding gear, drink a few beers, find your friends, and hop into the world of PKEW PKEW PKEW and their anti-social party punk rock. There’s a lot more going on than you might think on a first listen, and the live show is to die for. So much to cover! So get in the loop!

Momma (Told You To Roll On) – 1990Future

Bonus Episode (Re-Release): Covers

Dylan — Mon, 12 Oct 2015 15:40:36 +0000

Cover songs are a staple of music, a great opportunity to shuffle around the style and put a fresh take on something. Jesse and Dylan cover some of the best, some of the most interesting, some of the weirdest. A little something for everybody.

Bonus Episode (Re-Release): Far Too Canadian

Dylan — Mon, 12 Oct 2015 04:07:01 +0000

In this re-release, Jesse and Dylan tackle the most Canadian of music. Lots to enjoy here if you’re as passionate about home as we are, and if you’re from away, you’ve got lots to learn, so take a listen.

Bonus Episode (Re-Release): Nickelback

Dylan — Sat, 10 Oct 2015 18:54:51 +0000

As the first part of our Thanksgiving weekend re-release, this is the first recording Jess and Dylan ever released. It’s a look at Nickelback’s disco.. thing.. “She Keeps Me Up.” Plenty of awesome Dylan-hating-disco to listen to here. Don’t forget about our contest #DylanHatesDisco: If you can find a disco song I like, you can win a guest spot on the show!
